description of the possible activities:
Jim Thorpe Whitewater Rafting (15 miles): The Lehigh River Gorge makes for exciting and unforgettable days of whitewater and family-style rafting. Choose the trip that best fits your style and check out our trip descriptions below. There is an Adventure for everyone on the Lehigh River. Crossings Outlets (23 miles): With 100 outlet stores surrounded by the beauty of the Pocono Mountains, find impressive savings at Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, BCBG Max Azaria, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Chico's, Coach, Gap Outlet, Liz Clairborne, Polo Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Waterford Wedgewood and many more. Split Rock Golf Course (7 miles): One of the best-kept secrets in the Northeast, Split Rock Resort is a 27-hole public course with much to offer. It's majestic 585-yard 11th hole claims one of the most spectacular views in the entire Northeast, let alone one found on a golf course.
Hickory Run State Park (7 miles):
This 15,500-acre State Park lies in the western foothills of the Pocono Mountains. It has over 40 miles
of hiking trails, three state park natural areas and miles of trout streams. The Boulder Field, a
striking boulder-strewn area, is a National Natural Landmark. Pocono Raceway (12 miles): Pocono Raceway has long been recognized as one of NASCAR's most competitive raceways. Pocono's unique 2.5 mile track features three turns, each with its own degree of banking.
Jack Frost Ski (14 miles): If Big Boulder looks to easy for you, you may want to try its sister resort, which is only a few miles further away. At Jack Frost you'll get a bigger vertical drop and winter fun for all! (trail map) CamelBack Ski (26 miles): Pocono’s largest ski area, it features 33 slopes and trails, 100% night skiing, 100% snowmaking and 13 lifts (including two high speed quad lifts). You can also snowboard on the half pipe and two terrain parks. (trail map) Blue Mountain Ski (18 miles): Featuring Pennsylvania's highest vertical terrain with 30 trails, half-pipe, 2 terrain parks, 8 lifts including a hi-speed detachable quad. 4 school hills to make learning more enjoyable.
